A walk in Lizzano
Our walk starts from the hill where Convento San Pasquale dominates the village.
From here we descend crossing a small public garden
until we reach the Calvario.
Then we proceed to Piazza
Matteotti with the Elementary School building. Here starts
Corso Vittorio Emanuele traditional place of the evening stroll. This
is crossed by Via Roma where all the traffic from Taranto
crosses the village.
Our walk ends in the old part of Lizzano with
its Clock Tower . In front of the Tower is a typical
fountain of the Acquedotto Pugliese. After the tower there is
a square with the Chiesa Madre dedicated to San Gaetano and
the Castello.Just nearby the Castle is the Chiesa del Rosario and a small piazza with the Cappella del Crocefisso.
