The past

• 1947 Born in Lizzano a small village near Taranto (Apulia). My family lives there since five generations. If you are curious about my surname Zito, here you find some informations.
• 1971 Physics degree at the Bari University
• 1/1/1972-31/1/1976 Employed by the Bari University in a temporary position.
• During the academic years from 1972-73 to 1978-79 teaches advanced computer programming to a Computer Science class.
• Since 1/2/1976 employed by the INFN(Italian Nuclear Physics Research Institute)
• 1973 - 1984 collaborates to different Cern experiments held with the Omega detector.
• 1983- ... Collaborates to the Cern Aleph experiment. Spends one year at the same organization as " Scientific Associate".

The present

• I wrote a program for the monitoring of the "hadronic calorimeter" of Aleph through a monitoring display.
• I have presented these new methods of scientific visualization at the conference CHEP94.
• I am developing an Electronic logbook based on Mosaic and the web to monitor a Aleph subdetector. See here the abstract of a report for CHEP95 and the preprint of a paper .
• I am exploring the use of Hypertext as support of scientific visualization contributing to the Cern WWW94 workshop on electronic publishing.
• I am experimenting with an Algorithmic image server
• I am also interested to the use of the Web to teach Physics.
• As a byproduct of my work, I produce fractal images. Here you can have a look at some of them.
• I am fascinated by human memory. Do you know that Giulio Camillo during the Renaissance made plans to build a memory theatre Il Teatro della Memoria? This was similar to cyberspace.
